New Ellsworth Public Library Grand Opening

Updated: Feb 1, 2023

Library patrons and community members got their first glimpse of the new Ellsworth Public Library during the grand opening celebration that was held on Monday, January 23, 2023.

Hundreds attended the celebration, which will long be remembered and an historic event for the community. The project took over 10 years to plan and complete.

When standing in the new spaces it's hard to imagine the building was ever anything other than a library. The new library is over three times of the size of the previous one, with plenty of room for programming, meeting rooms, study spaces, a maker's space, teen room, children's room, history room, and more.

Kim Beebe, a member of the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce executive team, emceed the event. Library Building Committee Chair Paul Bauer, and Village Board President, Becky Beissel offered remarks. The Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors then officially opened the library with a ribbon cutting.

If you missed attending the event, the Pierce County Journal included a recap of the event and project here.

The welcome remarks and ribbon cutting were also recorded. You can watch the replay below.
